David Peace: Competition!!!!!

Competition!!! Yes, a real live competition. The first at The Northern Line!!! Excited??? You won’t be……..

On Saturday I went to Durham (see article about Keith Pattison & David Peace at The Durham Book Festival). I got a chance to speak to David about his talk and a bit about The Damned United. If you have been following The Northern Line in recent weeks you will know that we love literature (The Damned United), parks (Albert Park’s Brian Clough Trail) and Football (Brian Clough). So we combined all 3 by getting David to sign 5, yes 5 copies of the The Brian Clough Trail. This is a free guide to a walk around Albert Park in Middlesbrough starting at the home of Brian Clough and ending at the site of Ayresome Park. Yes, we know, cheap skates. It cost us nowt but we are poor northerners. As David will one day be rightly acclaimed as the greatest ever British Writer his autograph is what makes it special. First prize winner will also receive one  of our superb Northern Line t-shirts.  Now these did cost hard earned pennys so we are not that tight.

How do I win one of these great items I hear you cry? Well, unlike most publications we are not going to say something as bland as Which team did Clough win the European cup with? And then list 3 teams including Nottingham Forest. That is a raffle not a competition. So, so, here goes. You have a choice. In 100 words or less tell us what is your favourite book or your favourite ever football match. The winners will be those with the best/funniest/down right ridiculous replies. Send your answers to peter@thenorthernline by no later than Tuesday 30th of November. That gives you a whole month to think and write.
