“You better come clean. How could anybody be so mean? You better come clean. I will not be a party to your scheme. Come clean.
I will not be a party to your scheme. I mean, the things you do just make me want to screeeeeam.” (Poor Old Soul. Orange
Juice)

Did you think we’d forgotten about Thornaby’s favourite sons (and daughters)??? Well, we haven’t. We may not have seen them for a while but the love affair is still in full bloom. On Friday the 1st of April (no joke) they launch their debut EP with a spectacular gig at The Westgarth Social Club in Middlesbrough. But if you want to go its too late as its just SOLD OUT!!!! Unless you enter our superb competition below where we have the last 2 pairs of tickets up for grabs!!! Support comes from one of our favourites; Sunderlands own Roddy Frame; The Lake Poets and The Bluebuds.

Sold my Soul is the main track on the EP. Check out the video they’ve just made for it. Superb. Recorded in the lush surroundings of the Town Hall in Middlesbrough. See it here before its on rotation at MTV!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCrHXRg2jn0

COMPETITION TIME

So its sold out. You were warned that these kids were going to be massive. Remember that juggernaut coming down Linthorpe Road??? Well its gaining momentum and is about to smash through your bedroom wall. Well, despair not, as here at the Northern Line we have the last 2 pairs of tickets to give away. As well as the tickets we also have autographed copies of the EP. Wow. Now in years to come not only can you say you saw them before they were famous you can also be sure of a comfortable retirement! Now most people will ask you some bland question which requires an A, B or C answer. So easy that everyone gets it right. So it becomes a raffle not a competion. So because this prize is so great the question has to be a little bit hard. So here goes;

Have a look at the lyric above. Obviously the song is called Poor Old Soul and Cattle & Canes song is Sold my Soul. Thats one connection but what is the other?

Answers to me [email protected]  before Thursday the 31st of March. Winners will be contacted and tickets plus EPs will be on the door on the night. (No chance of ebaying your prize!!!!!)

A big thanks to the boys & girls in Cattle & Cane for not only making beautiful music that makes us smile and cry in equal measure but also for giving us copies of their EP to give away. Also a big thank-you to Andy Carr and Phil Carey for supplying the tickets (and bringing wonderful bands to our town) As well as Cattle & Cane they have a slew of great talent coming to the North in the next few months. Here is a  quick list but go to their site for details of tickets etc…..
