Village Green

“The Kinks are the Village Green preservation Society”  (1968)

Well we can now change the words The Kinks to “We”. And by “We” I mean all of us. Preserving the sound of brand new Boro band Village Green. But don’t let me do all the talking this is what their web site says……
ABOUT VILLAGE GREEN:

Village Green are a 4 piece rock n roll band hailing from Middlesbrough in the North East of England, their blistering live shows and memorable melodies have already seen them slot themselves firmly in as one of the best live bands of the region, writing songs that not only are catchy, but writing songs that make you feel something, that make you want to make music yourself, songs that make you want to put your arm around your best friend and have the time of your life. In the end this is a band you simply must see, and here is the best place to start, head over to the bands Soundcloud and digest in the beauty, melody and belief that is Village Green.
“Now I’m up on the Village Green where the brass band plays………” (Village Green by The Clouds 1988)

As well as a brand new web site (link below) they have a superb track on SOUNDCLOUD called “Love will save the World”  (link below). The track starts off like Bryan Adams The Summer of 69 but don’t let that put you off! It then builds into a mammoth rock mixed with Britpop track stirring memories of The Clash, Oasis, Biffy Clyro and the Icicle Works. They have a heap of gigs lined up in the North-East starting this Friday at the superb Medicine Bar in Middlesbrough as part of the Revival night. Catch them if you can…..
