The White Negroes: 20th Anniversary Gig

Two well-known local bands are reuniting for a special concert at the exact same venue they performed 20 years ago.
The White Negroes played their now infamous first show with 23rd Spiral back in August 1991 at The Ritz venue in Park Road, in their hometown of Hartlepool.
Now the groups return to the venue – now known as 3 Lions Sports Bar – for an anniversary show on Bank Holiday Saturday August 27.
And as a special thank you to their fans admission will be the same price as the gig in 1991 – just £2 a ticket.
The White Negroes spokesman; Sweet Dick Funk said: “The White Negroes are really excited that the 23rd Spiral will be performing at this special show. They broke up in the early 90s and we were delighted when they agreed to appear at the 20th anniversary show. It should be a special night.”
The band knows times are hard for folks so as a special thank you admission is the same price as it was for the gig in 1991 – just £2

In their two decades together the notorious band have drunk The Stranglers entire rider backstage at the Newcastle Heineken Music Festival, broke into the film set of the children’s TV show Teletubbies and put the head of Parlophone A&R in a whitey when he came to sign them.
