Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better. Just when you thought that The Kids Are Solid Gold had secured the best few months of entertainment that Middlesbrough and Newcastle have ever seen; Roddy Woomble, The Crookes, Treetop Flyers, Mercury nominated King Creosote, Buthcher Boy and the launch of Cattle & Canes second EP, they trump it all by bringing to Middlesbrough (for I believe the first time ever, correct me if I’m wrong) the Bard of Barking; Billy Bragg. Now apologies to all the other bands and especially Cattle & Cane who I love like my own children. But Billy is like a father figure, or maybe an older brother I never had. I have loved his works since first seeing him on The Tube (remember that?) in 1983. When I found out he was coming and that I couldn’t tell the world straight away I felt like digging up a corn field and whispering the secret to the reeds. The thought of Andy Carr with Donkeys ears prevented me from doing so…. Anyway, I digress. Read below for the superb line-up that is coming your way.
