Middlesbrough Town Hall Springs Top Names on Teesside

A host of big names are making their way to Middlesbrough Town Hall in early 2012, as the venue unleashes its brand new Spring Season.

After a tremendous 2011, which saw stars such as Morrissey, Jason Manford, Micky Flanagan, Gruff Rhys and a host more perform in the Victorian Concert Venue, a crop more of well loved faces will be set to entertain the masses.

The music on offer is as varied as ever from AC/DC tribute Live/Wire (This Saturday the 18th Feb) to Grammy award winning Country/Americana star Shelby Lynne (Thur 23 Feb).

Indie 5-piece The Maccabees (Wed 7 Mar) stop off at the venue as they tour the country promoting their latest release Give It To The Wild. The Wildcats of Kilkenny (Sat 17 Mar) return to the Town Hall for the mother of all parties as they’re joined by Cattle & Cane to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

60’s legends The Searchers (Thur 12 Apr) bring some Sugar and Spice to the diary as they perform their biggest hits from the last 5 decades. After an amazing performance in 2011 the Ultimate Eagles, the country’s biggest and best tribute to the Eagles, return for more sun-drenched nostalgia.

Irish singer, songwriter, and political activist Bob Geldof (Sat 26 May) is back at the Town Hall after a 20-year absence and will be performing a mixture of classic Boomtown Rats hits and tracks from his latest album, How To Compose Popular Songs That Will Sell.

The Town Hall continues to attract the world’s finest orchestras and musicians to the area, and as the only venue in the North East to be receiving international orchestras in early 2012; it is truly cementing its place in the classical world. MTH favourites Northern Sinfonia (Tues 6 Mar) and Berlin Symphony Orchestra (Wed 23 May) are all set to play the Main Hall.

Big Mouth Comedy Club returns on a monthly basis presenting the comedy scenes best new talent in an intimate cabaret lay out. Also on the cards are a host of top names such as award winning stand up and Northern sweetheart Sarah Millican (Wed 15 & Thur 16 Feb) and American funny man Reginald D Hunter (Sun 26 Feb).

Boro boy, and ITV1’s Show Me the Funny winner, Patrick Monahan (Fri 23 Mar) is back with his own show after a sell out gig in Sept 2011. 8 Out of 10 Cats team captain Jon Richardson (Sun 15 Apr) and Big Mouth favourite Jason Cook (Fri 18 May) both make returns to the Town Hall with brand new shows.

Legendary grouch Rich Hall (Sat 19 May) adds a little deadpan humour to proceedings and last, but never least, Jimmy Carr (Fri 1 June) is back at one of his favourite venues and with a brand new show.

Another famous face from the telly pops up in the shape of LivingTV’s top psychic Sally Morgan (Tues 28 Feb). Sally shared her gift with a sold out Town Hall crowd at the beginning of 2011 and is now back with more spiritual guidance.

There’s drama galore as NTC present 4 Words: Love. Life. Longing and Laughter (Thur 15 Mar), Seabright Productions present An Instinct For Kindness and the Edinburgh smash hit Showstopper! The Improvised Musical (Thur 3 May) all stop off in the Town Hall Crypt for one night only.

TV stars Barry & Stuart (Thur 31 May) present their illusionist spectacular and the All Action Wrestling (Fri 2 Mar) returns to add even more variety to an already impressive eclectic line up.
