Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell (pictured) will be heading for Galtres Parklands Festival this August, with Frankie & the Heartstrings also being added to the billing today. They join headliners Maximo Park on the Saturday night, with acoustic artists Lloyd Cole and Nick Harper also on the Saturday line-up.

“This is going to be one amazing treat for indie fans,” said festival director James Houston. “Johnny Borrell will be playing Razorlight smash hits like America, Somewhere Else and In The Morning as well as brand new material which is sounding superb. He’s played the biggest stages in the world, and it will be an honour to have him at Galtres.

“And as for Frankie & the Heartstrings, doesn’t everyone just love them? Like Maximo Park they’re another gem from the North East. Nothing Our Way is their new single released this week and we think it will take them a long way … all the way to Galtres Festival and beyond! they’ve played big festivals like Glastonbury – will be great to have them close to home turf!”

Already announced for other days at Galtres are REEF and Benjamin Francis Leftwich for the Friday, and The Stranglers, The Undertones and The Travelling Band for Sunday. More than 100 bands will play on seven stages over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The festival takes place this year in a beautiful new setting at Duncombe Park, Helmsley, near York, overlooking the North York Moors.
