Halloween is fast approaching and people across the globe will be embracing the celebration of the spectacularly spooky and sinister. Scotland played an influential role in the creation of modern day Halloween and people in the north fully involve themselves in the festivities and not only engage in the modern day traditions but strive to educate the audience on their role in the holiday.
Scotland Influence
History states that Scottish people would honour the dead at the end of October; prior to the Halloween holiday that now takes place at this time every year. They would celebrate the lives of those that had passed and don costumes to impersonate the key figures that were no longer with them.
Halloween was created by the Samhain people and had strong influences from the Celtic people, the Romans and obviously the Scottish, each group brought their own traditions to form the Halloween holiday we celebrate today.
