When The Northernline heard Middlesbrough was all set to open a new music venue we were excited to say the least and now its started to announce some acts we are over the moon!! The venue which opened its doors early last month, has announced major partnership deals with a trio of organisations from the area.

The venue, on Linthorpe Road Middlesbrough, has agreed a naming rights deal with TFM Radio and will now be called the ‘TFM Soundworks’. The local station will be promoting the venue on air and across its website and social media outlets. A live outdoor broadcast facility will be created to allow shows to come live from the backstage area capturing all the excitement of the big gigs coming to town.

The TFM Soundworks will also be providing opportunities for young musicians to perform at the venue, which will be supported by TFM’s music industry links and hopefully lead to more young talent like James Arthur and Amelia Lily coming from the area.

Here at the Northernline we have just heard that Babyshambles have been announced and are all set to play on mad Friday (20th December) as a special one off Christmas treat for the people of Teesside.

Peter Doherty has strong ties to the North East so this show will be a special one and probably his last before Christmas.

Babyshambles released their 3rd album a month or so ago and for me this has got to be their best work, each track is truly fantastic.
