With over two thirds of the tickets already snapped up and an amazingly good second wave of bands and acts to announce – things are flying at the Deer Shed Festival camp.

Joining confirmed headliners John Grant, Billy Bragg and The Unthanks in ninety acres of gorgeous parkland, will be producer and artist, Boxed In; Spanish all-girl quartet Hinds; Seafret, who have just performed with George Ezra for the Brit Awards week, along with a myriad of other amazing new talent.

The line up (so far) has gone down a storm this year, which means that Deer Shed Festival ticket tier 2 is having to draw to a close. On 2nd March tier 3 will come into play, so buy now to get the best deal possible.

Deer Shed Festival 6 – Latest Artists Confirmed for 2015

Adorning the In The Dock stage on Friday night is Boxed In, AKA songwriter and producer, Oli Baynston. This project is the coming together of Oli’s musical escapades, which have seen him be an accomplished producer, songwriter and live performer. Boxed In blends Oli’s love of Krautrock and house music, but with more focus on the vocals than you’d expect your run of the mill dance act. His self-titled, debut album was released earlier this year.

Hinds are an amazing emerging talent from Madrid. The all girl quartet are taking Europe by storm with their loose and lo-fi pop songs that charm the hardest of hearts. NME described them as “Europe’s most exciting new band.”…can’t say fairer than that.

Bridlington is the setting that inspired duo Seafret, which are Jack Sedman and Harry Draper. Meeting at an open mic night sparked a musical chemistry that has seen them fly the nest into major label, Sony. Now living in London, they have released two EP’s and were supporting George Ezra at Brixton Electric earlier this month, showcasing new talent across BRITS week.

Palace’s rich, sultry songs resonate with such ease that makes it obvious this four piece have known each other for a long time, even though they’ve only been a band for a couple of years. These guys are doing two performances at Deer Shed Festival, first on the Main Stage and then a little later on the Obelisk Stage for a more up close and personal sound. Both are not to be missed if you’re any kind of fan of Jeff Buckley and Kings Of Leon. Such is their talent and sureness of sound, it’s hard to believe that they’ve only released one EP to date.

Robyn Sherwell is a name that is increasingly on people’s lips as she lights up the British female solo artist scene. Her debut album, Islander, brilliantly produced by David Kosten (Bat For Lashes) has just been released and features the single Love Somebody, which gained her recognition when played (and played) by Lauren Laverne on 6Music. This led to coverage in any number of music mags and websites. Things are looking bright for this amazingly talented singer/songwriter and Deer Shed Festival is glad to be part of it.

Post punk trio, Shopping, are known for their incredibly fun performances, so expect some surprises when they take to the stage. Formed in 2012, their debut LP, Consumer Complaints sold out its first pressing. Their second is imminent. NME said they were a “band you need to hear.” No complaints here.

Slug will be performing on the Lodge Stage on Friday night. Slug is essentially Ian Black, who performed for a while with fellow North Eastern music makers, Field Music. His sound is influenced by his time there, indeed the Brewis brothers of Field Music have produced his forthcoming LP, Ripe, but he makes it his own, mixing rock, funk and abstract film scores. Field Music fans will be pleased to hear that the Brewis brothers make up part of his five piece live band.

The Hummingbirds are a Liverpool based five piece ‘New-Country’ band who capture that unique Liverpool sound, embedding Beatle-like harmonies along-side jangling acoustic guitars and country riffs. Their main influences are The Eagles, The Beatles, The Hollies & Johnny Cash and the Deer Shed Festival audiences are going to love them.

Sam Russo is the self-proclaimed ‘last wild son of the road’ and spends his time between tours working, writing songs, writing a novel and dedicating himself daily to the pursuit of true freedom. Though he grew up in Suffolk he’s spent a lot of time touring across the US with the likes of Lucerno and Frank Turner. His debut album Storm was a gem and we look forward to the next one.

It’s likely you’ve probably seen Dan Donnelly perform without realising it, as he’s had more musical lives than most. Starting out in Belfast band Watercress, he then moved to New York to pursue a solo career and supported bands like The Levellers and Duran Duran. These days he’s a fixture on the festival scene playing his signature country-esque tunes that earned him a nomination in 2009 for the UK Festivals Critics’ Choice Award, where he was up against heavyweights like Thom Yorke.

Another Northern Coastal town is put on the musical map at the Deer Shed Festival, this time it’s Buffalo Skinners and their home town of Scarborough. They started out as a busking band in 2010, playing old folk and skiffle. Now, they have released two albums, had a glut of airplays over BBC Music stations as well as performing as part of the BBC Introducing…at Radio 2’s Live In Hyde Park, last September. Not bad for a bunch of buskers.

Scottish newcomers, Model Aeroplanes, will be opening the In The Dock Stage on Saturday. Their first single, Crazy, was enough to secure them a place on the BBC Introducing Stage at T In The Park, their follow up was just as warmly received, getting instant Radio 1 airplay. Fellow Scots, Earths will be offering up their unique blend of indie-folk-country-punk in a special late night Obelisk Stage session.

It’s rare to see indie sit comfortably next to R&B, but Pixel Fix manage to do just that. This four-piece band from Oxford are carving their own genre full of glitchy R&B with cuts and clicks bedded in to excite the listener. These guys will certainly be turning heads at this year’s Deer Shed Festival 6.

Our history

This is the sixth Deer Shed Festival. The team behind it have been in place from the start and families are at the heart of the preparations and the activities and services on site. In the last six years we have grown in attendance but are sensible to making sure that we never get too big. Those six years have seen a host of amazing bands play including Johnny Marr, Edwyn Collins, I Am Kloot, Saint Etienne, The Wedding Present, The House Of Love and Field Music.
