Ash And 3 Foot Ninja Live At The Empire In Middlesbrough 5th July 2010

Ash and 3 Foot Ninja @ The Empire, Middlesbrough on Monday the 5th of July 2010

I made my way down to see Ash on Monday night at Middlesbrough Empire. There was one very well known young local band on that night, 3 Foot Ninja http://www.myspace.com/3footninja who really got even the smaller of crowds going. In order for the band to keep the crowd they threw in some excellent covers such as ‘Breathe’ by The Prodigy and ‘Vlad the Impaler’ by Kasabian. During the Kasabian number they invited a pre-planned dancer on stage with them to re-enact the ‘Vlad the Impaler’ music video which really went down well.

Ash went down great with the fans and went through some of their well-known 90’s hit such as ‘Goldfinger’ and ‘Girl From Mars.’ The band played their hits one after another and really got the crowd going. http://www.myspace.com/ash

Our intrepid reporter for the night was Oliver Perry who you may have come across taking photos for The Northern Line. As he was there we got him to write the report as well.

Not many live gigs at The Empire for a while. Next up is Fun Lovin’ Criminals on the 12th of September. There are other events which we will be previewing soon. http://www.theempire.co.uk/home.html

A big thank-you to Ashley at The Empire for his support. To Oliver Perry for his photos and review. If you fancy writing for The Northern Line then get in touch. Any gigs, events or cultural shenanigans that you have encountered are all things we are looking to push and promote. As long as they happen in The North then they are worth a mention.
