Bandstand: Saturday 7th May 2011 Preview

 May’s Bandstand:

Spring on to Bandstand with Rev. Rick Betamax & Friends.

 Bandstand’s welcoming the Spring sunshine in with a fine line up of entertainers May 7th, The Crown, Middlesbrough.

Poetry scene’s wise high elders Bob Beagrie & Andy Willoughby join forces to make a unmistakable wordsmith team. Joined in their efforts by top musicians and visual aid, a unique start is guaranteed to this May-time variety show. 

 Leeds based comedian Psycho Julie (aka Elizabeth Hotson) is up next coming to Middlesbrough for the first time. Elizabeth is bringing her hilarious Yorkshire ‘chav’ character to the stage after entertaining audiences all round the British Isles, she comes highly recommended.

 After a phenomenal run of shows starting in The Sessions a month ago exciting new rappers Blunt & Big Rob continue to rise in stature. Twisted stories of sex, love and hate delivered powerfully and crafted masterfully. These two talented maestros’ from Middlesbrough take to the Bandstand stage for the first time.

 Topping off the bill are legends and stalwarts of the Middlesbrough music scene Sugarstone. After re-forming just over a year ago this powerful three piece are guaranteed to bring energy and class to the closing stages of the show!

 As well as the variety of top class entertainers on this month’s show is of course the talents of resident host Rick Betamax hosting games and shenanigans to knit the night together. Betamax has spent the month campaigning around town with his entertaining manifesto for the future of Middlesbrough if he was elected Mayor. Such proposals as renaming the Mall ‘Cleveland Centre’, bringing back the glass elevator, re-opening the ‘Maddison night club’ and bringing Juninho back to town. A true man of the Boro.

 After the show at around 12 midnight resident tune chooser DJ Emmo will be filling the dancefloors with his usual top variety of music to see the night through to 2am.

 Onwards and upwards we shall overcome
