In approximately 2 weeks’ time, I’m pretty sure I’ll be sitting in a daze, in the sun (no, really), in a field, in Somerset. I’ll have a bellyful of fish curry and cider, an eyeful of bikinis (because of the sun, see), and an earful of, well, I’m not sure as the music won’t kick in properly for a couple of days yet.

But even if the sun doesn’t shine, and my cider’s warm, and the fish curry stall isn’t there, and I miss one or two of the bands I want to see, I won’t mind. Not one bit.

Glastonbury‘s a bit like that. In fact, you could lose all your money, step in a waist deep puddle of muddy piss, and discover that Bono’s pitched his tent next door to yours, and you’d still have the time of your life. 

Me, I’m especially looking forward to some of our finest northern exports making the pilgrimage south. Friday highlights include Two Door Cinema Club and Biffy Clyro on the Pyramid Stage, Primal Scream on the Other Stage.

Saturday brings Elbow on the Pyramid Stage, The Chemical Brothers on the Other Stage, Glasvegas in the JP Tent and perennial Northern Line favourites Wild Beasts headlining the Park Stage.

And finally, winding things up on Sunday we have The Kaiser Chiefs on the Other Stage and Everything Everything in the JP tent.

Oh, and before I forget, there are one or two bands from south of the border that I’m looking forward to seeing, too. But not until I’ve had my fill of cidre, fish curries and bikinis.
