Monday 25 July 8pm

Harrogate Theatre

Headlining Harrogate’s longest running monthly comedy club on Monday 25 July is one of the most sought-after comedy acts on the British and International comedy circuit, Justin Moorhouse (Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Phoenix Nights, Max & Paddy, 8 Out of 10 Cats).  The comedian will not only be trying out brand new exclusive material ahead of his new show but he will also be joined by creator of Ivan Brackenbury Hospital DJ Tom Binns, returning with his new act – the spookily skilful, wonderfully observed and hysterically funny spirit medium Ian D Montfort.

Best known for his class turn as tiger-striped Young Kenny in Channel 4’s Phoenix Nights and Max & Paddy, Justin Moorhouse has come a long way since winning the ‘City Life Comedian of the Year’ Award in 2000 and is no stranger to Harrogate Theatre, having performed to packed houses in past years.  After a very successful run at the Edinburgh Festival last year, he will be previewing material for his new show.

Also appearing at the last Hyena Comedy Club before Harrogate Theatre’s October Comedy Festival is acclaimed comedian Tom Binns (creator of Ivan Brackenbury Hospital DJ) who returns with his brand new show: Ian D Montfort, a spookily skilful, wonderfully observed and hysterically funny spirit medium who contacts the dead with inexplicable clairvoyant revelations.

Tom Binns was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award and Best Established Comedian for the second year running at the Adelaide Fringe in 2011 for his previous show: Ivan Brackenbury Hospital DJ which hit the comedy world by storm, winning the highly esteemed Spirit of the Fringe Award in 2007 at the Edinburgh Festival.  His new act Ian D Montfort looks set to also be a huge hit, having already garnered prestigious comedy award nominations this year including the Best Character Act at the Chortle Awards.

Oven its seven years at Harrogate Theatre the Hyena Comedy Club has played host to many of today’s top comedy performers including Jason Manford, Alan Carr, Mark Watson, Sarah Millican, Russell Howard, Rhod Gilbert, Richard Herring and Chris Addison amongst many others.

Watch this space for Harrogate Theatre’s third annual Comedy Festival line-up announcement, which take place over 2 weeks in October.

The Hyena Comedy Club will be at Harrogate Theatre on Monday 25 July at 8pm. Tickets cost £12 with concessions available and can be booked securely online at www.harrogatetheatre.co.uk or through the Harrogate Theatre Box Office on 01423 502116.
