Sadly the Greetings From Beacons festival has been cancelled after the site is branded unsafe by authorities.
Jamie Woon, Tom Vek and Jamie XX had all been due to play the event which was due to start today for 3 days.
The event in Skipton,North Yorkshire has been shelved after the site was inspected and authorities said it is “no longer considered safe for a public audience”
Organisers have blamed this on recent “adverse weather conditions” in the area.
Organisers have posted a statement on www.greetingsfrombeacons.com which reads “it is with sincere regret that the organisers of Beacons Festival 2011 have had to annouce its cancellation.Due to severe adverse weather, the event is no longer considered safe for a public audience.
Please do not come to the site,further announcements will be made later today.Please hold onto all tickets and receipts for the time being”
