The North East is rife with music venues, bringing in acts from all over the world; but from Newcastle and Sunderland, to Stockton and Middlesbrough, there has always been something of a gap.

This gap, while home to the perfect student-filled city of Durham, has never really stepped up with a decent enough venue to showcase those travelling from both near and far. Hoping to change that is venue ‘Durham Live Lounge’.

Durham Live Lounge is one of the first of its kind in Durham with a large capacity (approx 700) and catering for all types of music including plenty of local acts.

The acts lined up for October speak for themselves, first name worth a mention is Steve Cradock (Ocean Colour Scene’s guitarist and now solo artist to boot) He is playing here on 9th October and both his solo albums have received excellent reviews.

On October 13th we have local heroes Hyde and  Beast ( http://www.myspace.com/hydebeast ) featuring Dave Hyde (THE FUTUREHEADS drummer) and Neil Bassett (ex GOLDEN VIRGINS drummer) Their newish album is out now called SLOW DOWN and all I can say is its superb!! On the 16th October we have BRUCE FOXTON and RICK BUCKLER (2/3rds of THE JAM) playing all the hits and getting the crowds reminiscing as well as jumping around and singing along.

And into November they have everyone’s  favorite raver, the one and only SHAUN RYDER and his band perform hits from his back catologue  on the 10th November
