WHAT’S ON: MIDDLESBROUGH TOWN HALL

The first time I saw Roddy Frame was in the summer of 1983 at Dingwalls in Newcastle. Since that day 28 years ago I have seen him only once more. So it is with a bit of excitement and a little trepidation that I will stride out on Tuesday night to see him at the Town Hall in sunny Middlesbrough. Will he do all of High Land, Hard Rain? (Surely one of the best debuts ever!!) Or will he play song after song that I don’t know? I should have kept track of his solo stuff but I haven’t. Hopefully Tuesday will be the beginning of a new love affair with the boy wonder. Tickets are still available so get yourself along. What else have you got on????
The Town Hall has a number of fantastic gigs coming up. They start tonight (Sunday 9th October) with Gruff Rhys from Super Furry Animals. He played Harrogate Theatre recently and received a glowing review here at The Northern Line. Check it out, and then check him out.
Then Roddy as already mentioned. Next, on Thursday the 20th of October the much maligned Toploader. Celebrity girlfriends, untold ridicule about Dancing in the Moonlight but still they keep going. Get yourself along and cheer them up.
