Stockton Calling 2012
4 become 5, as Stockton Calling is back – bigger and better than ever!
Stockton Calling was our gig of the year in 2011 and this year looks to be bigger and better already. Easter Saturday the 7th of April is the date for your diary. Lent will have ended and drinks will be drunk. Get yourself there to party hard and hear the best bands on the planet all in one rather hip Northern town. Read all about it below………
Now heading into its third year Stockton Calling, the all day music festival that quite literally rocks Stockton Town Centre, is picking up the pace with some very exciting announcements of an additional stage and the first headline act.
As always the musical feast will take place on Easter Saturday, this year falling on 7th April, and after adding a fourth stage in 2011 the festival finds itself expanding once more with a further venue coming on board.
ARC, The Georgian Theatre, KU Bar, The Sun Inn (programmed by The Kids are Solid Gold) will welcome The Vault, located on Prince Regent Street, to the line up. The venue will host a throng of local and national acoustic talent, taking advantage of the venues intimate and relaxed atmosphere.
The first headline act to be announced comes in the form of Teesside’s very own mysterious troubadours Young Rebel Set.
The raucous troupe make their debut appearance at the festival with what will be their first date in Teesside this year, and where better to preach their full-blooded tales of tough love and hard luck than their spiritual home of KU Bar?
More line up announcements are still to come, but as crowds are coming to learn, an eclectic mix of artists, both known and up-and-coming, can be expected from Teesside’s fastest growing and highly anticipated music experience.
Tickets go on sale on Friday 13 January and are priced £12 in advance. As an added incentive to pre-book there will be an exclusive, and limited, free CD/Download featuring 10 local artists that will gracing the stages at this years event.
Book online at http://www.arconline.co.uk/ or call 01642 525199 or buy them in person at ARC or Green Dragon Studios.
Doors for all 5 venues open at 1.30pm on Saturday 7th April. Entry age is 14 +.
