2012 is the year when Pontefract becomes known for more than just Haribo.

Named in homage to The Town of Crooked Ways, a 1912 book by local author J.S. Fletcher, Crooked Ways is a music event unlike any Wakefield and the five towns has ever seen.

Taking place inside Pontefract Park, inside the circuit of the Racecourse, on Saturday 26th May 2012, Crooked Ways will feature internationally acclaimed artists, up and coming acts from around the UK, as well as showcasing the best local talent.

Crooked Ways will be inside an enclosed space inside Pontefract Park, with bands playing across three stages. Bars will be available throughout the festival site, for a nice tipple whilst watching the bands. Alternative entertainment will also be provided throughout the day, so watch out for those guys!
