By Toutatis: Hero & Leander

“By Toutatis” an explaination that most of you will be familiar with through the Adventures of Asterix the Gaul but there is a new reason for this being on everyone’s lips. A brand new single from a group that we’ve recently come across. Hailing from Saltburn by the Sea they unleash a noise on “Hero & Leander” that grips as it enthralls the listener in a style reminiscent of The Tindersticks or The Orchids. Like a sea shanty being sung by Nick Cave. It’s great. Maybe the fact they live by the coast gives them a sort of rolling, waving, salty kind of sound.

The new single, do we still call them singles? Is out this week. It contains the aforementioned track “Hero & Leander” and also “World’s Worst”. It is extremely limited (only 100 copies world wide) and comes in a snazzy sleeve designed by ACD Sleeve.

Have a look at the video for the lead track and if you like it, I’m sure you will, then head over to the site and bag yourself a copy before they’re all gone. Better still go see them in the flesh. They play The Victoria in Saltburn on Friday 31st of August.
